THE INSIDIOUS SEIU

Author: Steven D. Lange

The SEIU. What is that? The letters stand for Service Employees International Union.

What does the SEIU do? They are a nationally organized international movement here in the United States scheming 24/7 to make everyone one who works for an American company a union member. That is their goal. They are organized, have published books, manuals and various other publications outlining just how this should be done. The SEIU is financed through union members who have to pay union dues, out of their wages, to the union bosses. For the privilege of being a union member you get to have a second boss telling you what to do and you pay them for that privilege. You cannot fire union bosses and you certainly do not get to choose them. They take control of you through your job. They own you.

Why would anyone want to belong to a union? For the promises the SEIU makes is why. They promise you higher wages and better benefits aimed to improve your condition. The only hitch is most companies only have a narrow margin of profit and there is not that much to go and get to give to the employees beyond what they are probably already getting. Examples are plenty of unions destroying businesses. Just look at the American auto industries which are all going broke because they pay almost double the salaries and benefits of their competitors. The long term benefit of a union in a company is to drive it into bankruptcy. This is done by redistributing the wealth from the owners who created the company and from the investors who financed the company to the employees. Workers, through unionism, will suck the life out of every company in America eventually leaving it uncompetitive, heavily in debt or broke. Unionism is like a growing cancer in every company it infects usually killing its host in the end.

How does the SEIU make a company go union? They figure out ways to make the company go union. If a company is asked to go union and refuses then the SEIU union party apparatchik goes deep into their playbook for the next level of strategy which includes many levels and many techniques including coercion, intimidation, filing frivolous lawsuits against the company or its ownership, it goes after employees getting them to file grievances, whether real or not. In other words they play dirty stopping at nothing to get what they want. They have ex-SEIU members in all levels of government and they use this power to also apply pressure. They will file lawsuits, go to customers to intimidate them against the company, they will get false stories printed in local newspapers and so on. They will stop at nothing.

If I become a union member can't I just vote the union in or out if I choose? No. Once you become a union member in that company the only way to not be a union member is to quit the company and lose your job while the union stays on. What the SEIU wants is something called Card Check so that all control vests with the union, party bosses. Should this ever pass, at any level, the workers will have to vote publicly. No more secret ballot which has been the hallmark of the American voting process since our founding. Imagine voting out in public on issues which are sensitive allowing your co-workers to know how you voted. That's how the arguments begin. That is how the intimidation begins. And especially against those not strong enough to fight back. These weaker union employees will simply vote to go along, vote to get along in order to avoid the pressure; the harassment out of fear of losing their job. The very thing the person joined the union to get and keep in the first place. And this is exactly what will happen. This is what has already happened; is happening across America today, even as you read this article.

Why would an employee wish to join SEIU? It is because they think the SEIU will be able to negotiate or coerce better wages and benefits from the employer than the employee could negotiate on their own? And while in the short run the company's profits may move from the owners and investors to the workers it will eventually also move from research and development, marketing, cash held in reserve for running the company, etc., until such time the company has no assets, no financial strength nor anything but debt and a shrinking share of the market until the company goes broke and everyone, including the owner and worker alike lose their jobs. This is how corrupt income redistribution is. Whenever you take from one person and simply give it to another you corrupt capitalism and you corrupt yourself. And what does corruption generally lead to?

So now you know what the SEIU is, how it operates and what it does to American business and to the character and spirit of Americans. So, I ask you now, what are you going to do about it? I will ask you again; just what are you going to do about it!
